PHYGITAL ARTIST
LA & Dublin painting Diaries are a visual diary where pigments and emotions intertwine. Each painting captures a daily mood, like a color script, illuminated by Californian light and extended into digital space through AI transitions. A sensory journey between intimate abstraction and immersive landscapes.
INSPIRED BY CALIFORNIA CITIES
Gentrification silenced the San Francisco old signs—Doreau, A Franco-Californian digital nomad, rewires them into a new language of resistance, memory, and urban myth.
Alpha Bay city: 3 min HD video + soundtrack - acrylic paintings on canvas and board, prints
SAN FRANCISO SERIES
“Cadastres Exquis” is an emotional mapping of San Francisco — a city of drifting memories, fog, and fleeting sensations. Inspired by the Golden Gate Park, blending painting and text into poetic layers of memory and sensation.
“North Lake” The text, half-lost and half-revealed, mirrors and resists possession. It invites drift. And in doing so, it becomes a kind of liquid thinking—a reverie unfolding across canvas and video
North Lake 6 - Acrylic on canvas - 40x40cm
The Eye of The Park (extract) - 4min HD video (Horizontal & vertical formats) + text + soundtrack - Projection, installations
The North Lake does not sleep
it dreams with open eyes,
an iris of forgotten gold beneath the Gate,
Threading silence through vaporous veils.
Its breath is made of reflections,
Its skin—of murmured pulse and drifting thought.
Trees disintegrate in its mirror,
become birds, become smoke,
become the names of stars never spoken.
DIGITAL-VIDEOS
My digital videos reimagine the city as an emotional and poetic space, combining abstraction, rhythm, and original soundtracks to trace movement, memory, and change
PHYGITAL WANDERER
Sylvain Doreau is a transdisciplinary artist exploring emotional memory, disappearance, and the urban landscape.
From Paris to Dublin via San Francisco and Los Angeles, his work — painting, video, text, and digital experiments — traces the sensitive strata of urban experience.
His practice, shaped by cycles of rupture and rebirth, weaves a living memory of the places he has inhabited, constantly evolving.
Over a 30-year professional journey in Animation and Games, Doreau has experienced cycles of intense creation, burnout, layoffs, and artistic rebirths with his personal Art practice. Rather than closing a chapter, each rupture becomes a driving force: it amplifies the memory of the place left behind, fuels introspection, and infuses his painting and digital series with a living nostalgia, where memory transforms into fertile ground for creation. With every migration, his work expands, between loss and renewal.
